Job Description:

General Functions: Provide behavioral services to an individual with developmental disabilities.
Specific Functions:
Implementation of behavior development program.

Emergency intervention with assigned client.

Collect data on inappropriate behaviors.

Implementation of skill acquisition programs.

Provide assistance to client during group activities.

Assist client with self-care tasks such as eating, dressing and toileting as needed.

Follow work schedule developed by day program coordinator.

Oversee and provide instruction in client routines such as class schedule and outings.

Provide client training as specified in the Individualized Services Plan/Individuals habilitation Plan, and provide documentation.

Maintain awareness of client's physical condition and activity level and report suspected problems or symptoms to the Case Manager, Nurse, and Coordinator of Community Support Services.

Be familiar with the location and the organization of the client records and files, and other record keeping systems.

Provide counselings and crisis intervention to clients in need of such assistance and guidance.

Operate agency vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including: medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather and other hazards.

Be familiar, and act in accordance, with established safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Supervise, accompany, transport, and assist the clients in recreational programming, medical appointments, shopping or other activities as assigned.

Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Community Support Services (for day assignments).

Job Requirements:

Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience working with people with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. Driving record and individual automobile insurance coverage in accordance with agency policy. A criminal background check and post offer drug screen required. EOE.
