Maintenance Mechanic (CNC Lathe and Mill)

Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment (CNC equipment, vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, lathes, machining centers, grinders, chuckers, drills, gear hobbers, etc.)
Minor troubleshoots, diagnosis and correction of problems on machines and equipment.
Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
Inspects parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
Realigns and adjusts components for correct operation.
Repairs broken parts.
Welding and some fabrication.
General plant maintenance as required
All other duties as assigned
Equipment used is drill presses, grinders, hydro-boom, hydraulic and hand presses, jacks, and ladders. Tools used are hammers, pliers, open end, crescent, socket and box wrenches, gear pullers, scrapers, and precision levels. Instruments used are tachometers, pressure gauges, micrometers, calipers, and thickness gauges.

Experienced with Machine Repair, proven experience with machine tools, ability and desire to learn and improve processes. CNC maintenance repairs a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and prints. Spanish a plus, but not required.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Duties require working in standing, squatting, reaching, and stooping positions. Lifting up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Occasion lifting up to 50 pounds.

Repair work involves heights up to 30 feet and handles material normally from 30 to 50 lbs. Work is dirty and greasy.
