1st and 2nd Shift
This is a full-time PM shift position (11:30a-8p) with an every other weekend requirement
•Demonstrates aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed.
•Promotes efficient use of all kitchen equipment.
•Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
•Checks food shipments into the dining hall, signing invoices only after each order has been verified.
•Determines the quantities of each food to be prepared daily.
•Prepares food according to a planned menu and tested, uniform recipes, and determines if the finished product is of the best quality, both in flavor and appearance, before it is served.
•Maintains product inventory.
•Oversees the locking of the storeroom, all coolers and doors.
•Reports immediately to the director any problem or accident occurring in the kitchen or on the cafeteria premises.
•Responsible for supervising the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, and the washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware and utensils.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS: Works in the Kitchen of the Dining Hall. Hazards include:
•Working with electric machinery and food service equipment.
•Potential risk of exposure to communicable diseases.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Certificate of Food Service Sanitation.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years experience in food, restaurant or institutional service required. Education in the following would be a plus:
•One year experience in child nutrition.
